Araceli serves as the Chief of Staff and Donor Relations Manager at the National Hispanic Media Coalition (NHMC). She is a graduate of California State University, Los Angeles, where she majored in Public Relations and Organizational Communications. Her passion for representation in the entertainment industry started in community college, as she pursued her associate’s degree in Film. Realizing that she was not only one of three women, but she was also the only Latina in her cohort, she was determined to work towards equity in fields Latinx, particularly women, are still underrepresented. She strongly believes education is where it all begins and is a believer and advocate for ethnic studies and digital media literacy.
Born and raised in Koreatown, Los Angeles, California, Araceli is the youngest of three daughters to parents who immigrated from Oaxaca, Mexico. She is a proud pet-parent to a Pekingese, a Terrier-Mix rescue, and a goldfish.
